Looking Back on a Stellar Year for Chroma Cares

November 28, 2025

As 2025 comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on what an extraordinary year it has been for Chroma Cares. This season brought meaningful projects, strong partnerships, and moments that remind me why we do what we do. At its heart, Chroma Cares is about helping our Westmoreland County community grow and building connections that matter.

Bringing Westmoreland’s Heritage to Life

One of our standout projects has been preparing for the launch of Discover Westmoreland, in partnership with Westmoreland Heritage. This initiative means a great deal to me because it highlights the depth of our region’s history, culture, and attractions in a welcoming and accessible way.

Working with Dawn Lamuth is always a joy. Her commitment to community shows in every interaction. From mapping out the digital experience to planning how users will engage with content, it’s been inspiring work. As we approach our nation’s 250th anniversary, we’re eager to see how visitors will explore Westmoreland’s story through this new platform.

Strengthening Cultural Connections

Our continued partnership with the Westmoreland Cultural Trust has grown in meaningful ways this year. Supporting their efforts to strengthen the region’s cultural life has been a privilege. We’ve helped them connect with audiences, promote events, and expand their digital access. It feels like a small contribution to a much bigger mission.

I seem to run into someone from their staff at almost every community event. That presence speaks volumes about their dedication. Ben Luczak has been an excellent leader, supported by a talented team: Dan, Sandee, Beck, and Abby. Their enthusiasm has made collaboration a genuine pleasure. As we enter the new year, we’re excited to help highlight Nick Lenz, their new education and community engagement hire, as he expands their outreach.

Working with the Westmoreland Museum of American Art has been another joy. Every visit reminds me how fortunate we are to have a museum of such caliber right here in Greensburg. Fresh, thoughtful exhibits continue to unfold under the leadership of Dr. Silvia Filippini-Fantoni, whose vision has brought renewed vibrancy to the space. I look forward to collaborating more closely with Claire Ertle, their warm and dedicated marketing director, in the coming year.

Championing Downtown Greensburg

Our involvement with Shop Greensburg has been equally rewarding. Relaunching their website and supporting downtown initiatives reaffirmed my belief that small businesses are the heart of any city. Helping people discover shops, restaurants, and events across Greensburg has been fulfilling work. It’s wonderful to see that energy reflected online.

Amy Beeghley’s tireless advocacy for local businesses is deeply inspiring. This year, Shop Greensburg was fortunate to welcome intern Brooke Martin, who elevated their social presence far beyond expectations. I wish Brooke all the best in what I know will be an impressive career.

The Greensburg Community Development Corporation has been another source of inspiration this year. Our shared vision for a thriving and welcoming city has already sparked meaningful collaboration. I’m eager to continue helping them bring their goals to life through digital strategy and storytelling. Their new executive director, Nancy Ligus, brings a data-informed, thoughtful approach. It pairs beautifully with Anna McClain’s energy and creativity as events manager. They make an incredible team.

Building Business Connections

Working with the Westmoreland Chamber of Commerce has been a true highlight. From attending events to supporting their branding and website needs, we’ve enjoyed helping strengthen connections among local businesses. Witnessing members grow, support one another, and share successes reminds me of the importance of a strong business network.

I’ve had the privilege of leading educational classes alongside Chroma’s Content Director, Scot Noel. We appreciate that the Chamber shares our commitment to member education. We’re fortunate to have Dan DeBone as Chamber president and CEO. His leadership demonstrates a deep understanding of what it takes to strengthen our local economy.

Launching Something New

This year, we also proudly launched Experience Points, a small but impactful nonprofit that uses gaming to support mental health. It’s been motivating to see how a creative idea can bring people together while meeting a real need.

Dr. Stephen Kuniak is proof that persistence and vision can turn a long-held dream into reality. Attending their ribbon-cutting and open house was one of the most memorable events I’ve experienced. Seeing philanthropist Barbara Ferrier and Commissioner Doug Chew there alongside community members made it truly special. I can’t wait to see what they build next.

A Personal Mission

On a more personal note, my involvement with the YWCA Westmoreland County has been especially meaningful this year. Supporting their work in honor of our beloved accountant, Cathy Caccia, has reminded me how one person’s passion can uplift an entire community. Working with this dedicated organization reinforces how important it is to give back in ways that honor those who paved the way before us. I’ve been proud to help represent them at events for Carol and Bekah. I look forward to continuing to support their mission of empowering women in our region.

Looking Ahead to 2026

Looking ahead, 2026 holds tremendous promise. We’re especially excited to focus on the Visit Greensburg website and project. This initiative is designed to highlight everything the city has to offer. From cultural events and local businesses to distinctive experiences, we want to draw people in and keep them coming back.

We hope this work will contribute to the continued growth of our beautiful city. Greensburg deserves to be a place people want to visit, explore, and return to again and again.

Gratitude and an Invitation

As I reflect on the past year, I am deeply grateful for every partner, organization, and individual who has joined us on this journey. Together, we’re helping Westmoreland County shine as a place of opportunity, creativity, and connection. Here’s to building a bright and vibrant future, one meaningful project at a time.

We invite you to consider supporting the organizations we’ve been honored to work alongside. They are doing impactful work in our community every single day. Your generosity helps them continue that mission. You can donate directly to any of our community partners by visiting our Chroma Cares page and clicking on their logos.

Thank you for being part of this journey and for believing in the power of community. Here’s to an even brighter year ahead.
